Underwater & Beach Clean Up, 8 Dec 2024

This community event — held on 8 December 2024 — brought together freedivers and non-divers alike to clean Singapore's Southern Islands. It was part of Zen Freediving's ongoing series of underwater and beach clean-ups; across nine previous events, the community has removed over one tonne of trash from Singapore's beaches and waters.

Non-divers were welcome to join the beach clean-up above the waterline. The participation fee covered return ferry transport to and from the Southern Islands via Marina South Pier. All clean-up equipment was provided on site.

Programme

• 8.45 am: Meet at Marina South Pier, board ferry to the Southern Islands
• 9.30 am: Arrive at Southern Islands, move to clean-up areas
• 10.00 am: Clean-up begins (underwater and beach)
• 12.00 pm: Bag and weigh collected trash
• 12.30 pm: Showers and free time on the island
• 1.30 pm: Board ferry back to Marina South Pier
• 2.30 pm: Arrive back at Marina South Pier
