Introduction to Freediving | Molchanovs Wave 1

The Molchanovs Wave 1 course is a comprehensive entry-level freediving certification—the most rewarding and challenging way to start your freediving journey. Perfect for experienced snorkellers, scuba divers, or swimmers already comfortable in the water.

Prerequisites

• Swim 200m unassisted (but breathing), non-stop in a pool setting
• Minimum age of 16 years

Course Structure

Online Study: Complete self-paced modules on physiology, physics, equipment, and safety

Day 1 — Theory (evening): Breathing and equalisation techniques, freediving physics and physiology

Day 2 — Pool: Static and dynamic apnea, safety and rescue skills

Day 3 — Depth (Lazarus Island): Depth diving techniques, equalisation, safety and rescue procedures

Certification Requirements

Pool: 1:30 static | 30m dynamic | Safety and rescue techniques
Open Water: 12–20m depth (constant weight & free immersion) | Safety and rescue from 6–10m

All performed comfortably with good technique
